Graduation time is close to one month away, and students all over Belize are counting down the weeks, days, and even in some cases hours and minutes. It is a time of bliss for most of our young scholars who are finally able to see the fruits of their labor and dedication throughout the school year. Even though it is a blessing to be having the graduation experience, there is a major negative that comes along with it.
Graduation season brings both parties and late night studying. For some reason, this is the time of the year when teachers feel the need to stuff as much work down students throat as possible. Currently, many potential graduates are faced with the tasks of completing SBA's, studying for diploma exams, studying for cape and cxc's, and to top it all off being bombarded with end of semester projects. The SBA's and CXC's are a given, but those end of semester projects should be spread out more evenly during the semester. Instead of giving one big project at the end of the semester, how bout giving three small ones teachers!?!?!?!?!
Our students are being overworked on the final stretch when they are to be focusing exams...teachers lets reconstruct the teaching plans and give our students the best opportunity to become successful... AND ACTUALLY GRADUATE ON TIME!!!
